Church of Man Love is a show borne from individual artists’ desire for growth through the mental and spiritual stimulation of sexual experiences. New sexual encounters may result in reexamination of self image and anticipation for better and/or hotter sensual lives. Along with this sexual energy comes a latent creative energy to explore and reform an advanced mindset of the individual. The artists ofChurch of Man Love create work that merges psychological energies with sexual provocation as a way to further explore our tastes, values, humor, pride, and excitement.

Church of Man Love features work from Jonathan ArmisteadChris BogiaBrian GuidryErik HansonEric JohnstonColby KellerMark PonderAlex Rosa, and Igor Siddiqui.

Mark Ponder lives and works in Houston. His work was included in the 2013 Texas Biennial and the 2013 Texas Contemporary Art Fair. He has recently exhibited at Gaddis Gesslin Gallery in Huntsvillle, the EMERGEncy Room in Houston and Ro2 Gallery in Dallas.

Ponder is the recipient of a 2014 Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant.
