BOX 13 ArtSpace is pleased to present three exhibitions opening May 25, 2019 7 – 9PM.
In the Front BOX, S Rodriguez exhibition a body, or something like it – explores the conversation around queer and trans marginalized bodies and the constant overlap of our physical and digital selves, how queer narratives translate across technological platforms, and the necessary role of the linguistics of digital spaces in making room for shifting identities.
On view in the Back BOX Moments of Relief, with Katy Schmader, Masumi Kataoka, and Melissa Walter, is an exhibition of tactile material explorations in the form of prints and wearable art, influenced by insect structures, human and animal forms as well as by the art-historic system of landscape semiotics.
Installed in the Window BOX, Daniela Koontz’s Sweet Rumpus of Love is a magical glam forest inspired by the fashion palette of late 70’s British rock icons David Bowie and Marc Bolan.
